BlackBerry Curve 9380: RIM’s first full touchscreen smartphone

After ruling many years over QWERTY keyboard smartphones RIM released a budget all touch device in the shape of BlackBerry Curve 9380. RIM tried to give both touch and its famous four rows keyboard feel to their customer but demand of large screen and touch interface bound the company to launched full touchscreen smartphones over the keyboard ones. Lets take a look on the features of this new RIM’s creation.

Design

Its 3.2-inches 360*480 pixels resolution TFT capacitive touchscreen replaces the keyboard completely. The Curve 9380 is pocket friendly phone with 98g weight and 109*60*11.2mm dimensions. (more…)

BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 faster than Apple iPhone 4

We know there is no point comparing the two brilliant smartphones the BlachBerry Bold Touch 9900 and Apple iPhone 4 from completely different world each proficient in there own way. But those who are highly perplexed on these two comprehensive phones must have a look below on there compared features.

Form:
Both these phones appears to be quite similar in terms of there dimensions and weights. iPhone 4 is captured into the 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm chassis whereas BlackBerry 9900 is about 115mm long, 66mm broad and 10.5mm thick. The weights are 137g and 130g respectively. The main difference comes with the screen. In blackberry Bold 9900, the phone is divided into a 2.8 TFT capacitive touchscreen and QWERTY keypad. On the other hand, in iPhone 4, the screen is covered all over the device with 3.5 inches IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen size.

Memory and Operating System:
This is the main and decisive section that differentiates the two smartphones. BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 and iPhone 4 both features respective operating systems in the markets, the Blackberry OS v7.0 and the Apple iOS 4.0. However, BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 is faster than iPhone 4 as it runs on 1.2 GHz processor along with 768 MB of RAM. On the other hand iPhone 4 sticks to 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU with 512MB RAM. BlackBerry Torch 9810: Arriving In August

BlackBerry Torch 9810 is the latest handset revealed from Blackberry which is fast enough running on 1.2 GHz processor that appears quite sturdy and powerful. The device is hitting the shelves in the UK in August.

Display and Camera:
BlackBerry Torch 9810 measures 111 x 61.9 x 14.5 mm weighing about 161g. The handset features a 3.2 inches capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 640 pixels. It also offers highly responsive optical trackpad along with Multi-touch input method, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off provided for smooth navigation over applications. The QWERTY keypad however makes the phone bulky but if you want a phone with large screen and a keyboard then this can be your choice.

Looking at the camera, it offers 5 mega pixel having loads of features to capture a perfect memorable pictures and videos. This includes continuous auto-focus, image stabilization and Geo-tagging that makes clicking a wonderful experience for a special event.

Processor and Memory:
The 9810 operates on the latest BlackBerry 7 OS which is quite fast and efficient but in terms off apps it faces few obstacles. Other operating systems like Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS have a nice reputation with gaming, tools and other applications. The device runs with 1.2 GHz processor with the storage capacity of vast 8 GB expandable up to 32 GB.

Connectivity with additional Goodies:
There is no worry about staying connected with friends and work as it comes with connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth. Other useful features include A-GPS, NFC support Document viewer, digital compass, Organizer and much more.

BlackBerry Bold Touch – The Large Touchscreen Smartphone

Blackberry Bold combines a touchscreen with a full Qwerty keyboard. This mobile phone has a Candybar-style design which is impressive. It also has a 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 640*480 pixels. The internal memory of the mobile phone is 8GB and also has a 768 MB of RAM. The Bold looks slimmer and better design as compare to Bold 9000. There is a carbon fiber battery door on the back of the mobile phone.

Blackberry Bold has a 5 megapixel camera and offers a 720P video recording capabilities. This mobile phone also features an integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) chip. It is a short-range wireless communication technology and the same used in many new credit cards. The Bold is 10.5 mm thick which makes it the thinnest Blackberry phone. BlackBerry 8980 offers approaching soon

Yesterday RIM rumors suggest that the release of the Playbook tablet is likely to agree with Apple’s release date of the iPad 2.

The specifications shows that this at present is unexpected the 8980 will have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support but no 3G connectivity support.

The Curve range of BlackBerry handsets, the 8980 has a QWERTY keyboard, a decent 3.2-megapixel snapper with flash and an optical trackpad – very similar to the 8900 model although with the trackball replaced by the smoother pad. (more…)

BlackBerry Torch 9800 – A Sophisticate and Smart Professional Device

The new BlackBerry Torch 9800 is RIM’s latest attempt on touchscreen technology. RIM has done some work on its software to be more finger-friendly. This BlackBerry device has a landscape screen of 3.2 inches with an excellent QWERTY keyboard underneath. It is a slider gadget by BlackBerry.

Its home screen alone comes with overwhelming features. It comes with a number of options like it offers a sliding menu, revealing the icons related to the features of the phone. You can also reveal the sub-groups of your favorites and the most-used applications which can run side to side. Notification area will keep you updated all the time about your e-mails and Facebook updates. Only a tap is required on the icon to connect via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and to set alarms.
