Sony Xperia S will sport GLONASS Satellite Positioning System

Sony has just revealed that Sony Xperia S, its first own branded smartphone with dual-core processor and HD display is going to have unique satellite navigation system called GLONASS.

GLONASS Satellite Positioning System is a Russian-run alternative to GPS. Normally GPS uses 31 active satellites to find our location but this new system adds 21 more for exact searches of locations.

Like Sony there are Apple, Nokia, Samsung and Motorola that too have smartphones which supports GLONASS along with GPS. The Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia ray, Xperia neo, Xperia pro, Xperia play and Xperia active are some of the Sony’s flagship devices to already have this satellite positioning system.
